Growing Up

Growing up into being a teenager can be hard at the best of times, but there can also be lots of other hurdles when you have a complex congenital heart condition. This comic from The Somerville Foundation, "Michael's Growing Up" looks at what subjects interest or worry teenagers who were born with a heart condition. The story, although made up, describes personal experiences that teenagers, in one way or another, have lived through and that might also be familiar to you if you have a heart condition. Hopefully the story highlights some of the issues that can affect teenagers growing up with a heart condition.
